1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using any product or service offered by Record Technology Labs, including the Record Skill Verification Platform, Record Skill Wallet, Record Playground, and any associated APIs or integrations (collectively referred to as the “Platform”), you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the Platform. These Terms apply to all users of the Platform, including candidates, recruiters, businesses, verifiers, and API integration partners. Where the Platform is accessed through a third-party job board or staffing platform that has integrated Record’s technology, these Terms apply to you from the moment you initiate the skill verification flow on that platform.

2. About Record

Record is a skill verification infrastructure that enables individuals to verify their professional skills through human endorsements, AI-based assessments, and other available methods. The verified skills are stored in a portable Skill Vault and accessible via the Record Skill Wallet across any platform that integrates Record’s technology. Record does not function as a recruiting agency, employment platform, or certification authority. Record acts as a facilitator of structured skill verification and does not guarantee employment, hiring outcomes, or any specific result from the use of verified skill data.

3. Eligibility

To use the Platform, you must meet the following conditions. You must be at least 18 years of age. You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. You must provide accurate, truthful, and current information during registration and throughout your use of the Platform. You must not have been previously suspended or removed from the Platform for violation of these Terms. By using the Platform, you represent and warrant that you meet all of the above conditions. Where your account is created automatically through a job board integration as described in Section 6.4, you represent that you meet these conditions at the time you initiate the verification flow on the integrated platform.

4. Account Registration and Security

To access certain features of the Platform, you are required to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information during registration and to keep your account information updated at all times. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree not to share your account credentials with any third party. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, whether or not you authorized it. If you become aware of any unauthorized access to your account, you must notify us immediately at support@userecord.io. Where your account is created automatically through a job board or staffing platform integration, you are equally bound by these account security obligations from the point your account is created. Record reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that are found to be sharing credentials, operating under false identities, or otherwise violating these Terms.

5. Platform Products and User Categories

The Platform serves multiple categories of users, and the following applies to each. Candidates are individuals who use the Platform to verify their professional skills through endorsements or assessments, store verified skills in their Skill Wallet, and share their skill profile with recruiters or prospective employers. Candidates may access the Platform directly or through an integrated job board or staffing platform. Verifiers are professionals who receive requests from candidates to endorse their skills. Verifiers participate voluntarily and are expected to provide honest, accurate responses based on direct knowledge of the candidate’s abilities. Businesses and Recruiters are organizations or individuals who integrate with or access Record’s infrastructure to view, assess, or leverage verified skill data of candidates for hiring or evaluation purposes. API Partners are companies, job boards, or staffing platforms that integrate Record’s API to offer skill verification capabilities within their own products. API Partners are bound by both these Terms and any additional agreement executed with Record. API Partners who initiate automatic account creation on behalf of their users are responsible for ensuring that the necessary user consent is obtained prior to transferring any user data to Record.

6. Skill Verification Process

6.1 Human Endorsement Candidates may request skill verification from designated professional contacts, including reporting managers, functional or technical leads, clients or stakeholders, founders or executives, and peers. Each endorsement request is specific to a combination of skill, source, and endorsement type. Each combination constitutes one attempt. Both approved and rejected responses are recorded permanently in the system and cannot be revised or retried for the same combination. Candidates must not submit false, fabricated, or misleading information about their skills or sources. Candidates must not misuse the endorsement system by submitting fake verifier email addresses, requesting self-verification through alternate identities, or harassing or spamming verifiers with repeated requests. 6.2 Assessment Verification Candidates may verify skills through AI-generated proctored assessments. Assessments are designed to evaluate practical knowledge and are aligned to the candidate’s mapped sources such as work experience, projects, or certifications. Assessments are conducted in a controlled environment with proctoring signals including webcam monitoring, audio detection, and activity tracking. Any form of cheating, use of external assistance, tab switching, or screen capture during an assessment is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate disqualification and account suspension. Reattempts for assessments may be permitted based on platform-level rules that are communicated to you at the time of the attempt. 6.3 Skill Bundling Candidates may bundle up to four skills in a single verification request sent to the same verifier. Bundling is optional. Each skill within a bundle is evaluated independently by the verifier, and the outcome of one skill does not affect the outcome of others within the same bundle. 6.4 Automatic Account Creation via Job Board Integration When you use a job board or staffing platform that has integrated Record’s skill verification infrastructure, clicking the skill verification option within that platform will initiate an automatic account creation process on Record. The integrated platform will share your registered email address and relevant profile data stored on that platform, which may include your name, work experience, projects, and certifications, with Record for the sole purpose of setting up your Skill Vault account and pre-populating it with your existing profile information. This process is initiated only upon your explicit action of clicking to verify your skills on the integrated platform, and occurs with the consent you provide at that point. By initiating the skill verification flow on any Record-integrated job board or platform, you acknowledge and agree that your profile data from that platform will be shared with Record to create and configure your Skill Vault account. Once your account is created, you can access your Skill Wallet directly through Record using the same email address associated with your job board account. Any skills you verify through the integrated platform will be stored in this Skill Vault and will be accessible and portable across all other platforms that integrate Record’s technology. If a Skill Vault account already exists under the same email address, the verification will be linked to your existing account automatically. No duplicate account will be created. Your existing verified skill records will remain intact and the new verification will be added to your existing profile. You may log in to your Record Skill Wallet at any time using the email address associated with your job board account to view, manage, or share your verified skills independently of the platform through which your account was originally created.

7. Verifier Responsibilities

If you act as a verifier on the Platform, you agree to the following. You will only verify skills that you have directly observed, evaluated, or have sufficient professional basis to confirm. You will provide honest and accurate responses and will not approve skills that you do not have direct knowledge of. You understand that your verification response, along with your name, company, email address, and relationship to the candidate, will be recorded and stored permanently as part of the candidate’s verified skill record. You will not submit responses under false identities or on behalf of others without their knowledge and consent.

8. Skill Wallet and Data Portability

The Record Skill Wallet is a candidate-facing product that stores all verified skills in one place, regardless of which platform or job board the verification was initiated through. Verified skills are tied to the candidate’s email identity and are portable across all platforms that integrate Record’s technology. Candidates may link multiple email addresses to their Skill Wallet through the Connected Accounts feature to consolidate skills verified across different platforms and identities. Each connected email address is verified through a one-time password process before it is linked. Any skill verified under a connected email address will automatically appear in the Skill Wallet. Disconnecting an email address will stop future skill syncing from that identity but will not delete previously synced verified skill records. Candidates who wish to remove previously synced records must submit a separate deletion request to support@userecord.io.

9. API Access and Integration Partners

Businesses and platforms that access Record’s infrastructure through the API agree to use the API solely for the purpose of enabling skill verification for their users. API keys must not be shared, exposed in client-side code, or used for purposes outside the agreed integration scope. API Partners who use the automatic account creation feature described in Section 6.4 must ensure that their platform presents a clear and explicit consent mechanism to users before initiating any data transfer to Record. Record shall not be held liable for any consent failures on the part of the integrated platform. Record reserves the right to pause or revoke API access in cases of misuse, breach of these Terms, or non-payment. Usage is subject to the billing terms agreed upon at the time of integration. Workflow performance, request volumes, and usage statistics are tracked and made available to the integrating partner through the Record Playground dashboard.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to engage in any of the following on or through the Platform. Submitting false, fabricated, or misleading skills, sources, or credentials. Impersonating another person or entity during registration, verification, or any other interaction on the Platform. Using the Platform to spam, harass, or repeatedly solicit verifiers. Attempting to manipulate the trust level system or exploit verification workflows for illegitimate gain. Accessing the Platform through automated scripts, bots, or crawlers without prior written permission from Record. Attempting to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract proprietary components of the Platform. Using verified skill data obtained through the Platform for purposes outside of legitimate hiring, evaluation, or skill assessment. Interfering with or disrupting the integrity or performance of the Platform or its underlying infrastructure.

11. Intellectual Property

All content, design, technology, and infrastructure on the Platform, including but not limited to the verification engine, Skill Vault, Skill Wallet, trust level system, and Playground dashboard, are the intellectual property of Record Technology Labs. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Platform for its intended purpose only. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sublicense, or create derivative works of any part of the Platform without prior written consent from Record Technology Labs. Any unauthorized use of Record’s intellectual property may result in immediate account termination and legal action.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Record Technology Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Platform, even if Record has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Record does not guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted information, endorsement responses, or assessment results. Record is not responsible for hiring decisions, employment outcomes, or any action taken by third parties based on verified skill data. Record is not responsible for any data shared by an API integration partner on your behalf where the required consent was not properly obtained by that partner. Record’s total liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the amount paid by you to Record in the three months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

13. Account Suspension and Termination

Record reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account under the following circumstances. Violation of any provision of these Terms. Submission of fraudulent, false, or misleading information at any point during the use of the Platform. Misuse of the endorsement or assessment system, including but not limited to fake verifier submissions, self-verification attempts, or assessment fraud. Non-payment of applicable fees by API partners or business users. Any activity that threatens the integrity, security, or reputation of the Platform or its users. Upon termination, your access to the Platform will be revoked immediately. Verified skill records already stored in the Skill Vault may be retained in accordance with the Data Retention provisions in our Privacy Policy. Where an account was created through a job board integration, termination of your account on Record does not affect your account on the integrated job board platform. For questions regarding termination, you may contact us at support@userecord.io.

14. Changes to These Terms

Record Technology Labs may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes in our products, legal obligations, or business practices. When changes are made, the updated version will be posted on the Platform with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. Where changes are material, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you through the Platform or via the email address associated with your account before the changes take effect.

15. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts located in India.
